9/12/2003 - Connect Tech Inc., designer and manufacturer of multi-port serial adapters, has expanded the BlueStorm/LP line by introducing boards both low profile and PCI 2.3 compliant to facilitate the needs of OS, retail, and hospitality applications while planning for the future of PCI mechanical standards.
The first Universal PCI BlueStorm/LPs available are two port assemblies with your choice of either RS-232 or RS-485 interfaces, and a two-port RS-232/RS-485 combination. These boards offer space-saving, MD1 low profiles while maintaining speed and functionality. Coming soon are four-port models offering RS-422/485 or RS-232.
High speed communication requirements are satisfied with data transfer rates up to 921.6 Kbps (RS-232 interface) and 1.843 Mpbs (RS-485 interface). This functionality and size make the BlueStorm/LP perfect for embedded systems, thin-client systems or any of today's applications requiring a serial I/O card with a small footprint. POS and Kiosk system designers will especially appreciate the BlueStorm's reliability.
