CATC Offers 3 Year Warranty on All Analyzers with No Additional Cost

9/4/2003 - Computer Access Technology Corporation (CATC) (Nasdaq: CATZ), a leading communications protocol expert company, announced that the company will extend its hardware warranty from one to three years -- significantly exceeding the industry standard one-year warranty period. The extended coverage will be included at no additional cost and will apply retroactively to all protocol analyzers or exercisers purchased from CATC on or after January 1, 2003. CATC sells protocol analyzers and exercisers for established and emerging digital communications standards including Bluetooth, Fibre Channel, IEEE 1394, InfiniBand, PCI Express, SCSI, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), Serial ATA and USB.

CATC first began delivering expert protocol analysis solutions in 1996 and has thousands of products in the field. CATC's extension of its warranty program reflects the company's continuing commitment to deliver industry-leading products supported by the highest level of customer service. CATC's expert protocol analysis systems allow customers to monitor communications traffic, diagnose design and operational problems and confirm interoperability and standards compliance, enhancing their productivity and time to market. This new extended warranty program will give customers the confidence that the analyzers and exercisers they purchase from CATC will continue to meet their needs throughout their product lifecycle, from design through test, production and field deployment.

"We have built a track record over the past eleven years of delivering the most reliable and stable products in the industry. Our expert protocol analysis systems are powerful, flexible and extremely reliable," stated Dan Wilnai, President and CEO for CATC. "CATC's new and improved warranty coverage enables us to continue to deliver the best solutions while at the same time, assuring our customers that their valuable investments are protected."

CATC offers two styles of protocol analyzers; stand-alone single protocol systems and platform-based solutions that can accept protocol specific analyzer and exerciser modules. CATC's stand-alone systems are all highly portable, fully functional analyzers. CATC was the first in the industry to offer a line of protocol analyzers based on the modular concept. The CATC Universal Protocol Analysis System(TM) (UPAS(TM)) consists of a base hardware platform that supports multiple digital communications protocols with both analyzer and exerciser modules. Protocols supported by the UPAS include Bluetooth, Fibre Channel, InfiniBand, PCI Express, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), Serial ATA and USB.

All CATC analyzer systems utilize the CATC BusEngine(TM) real-time protocol processor technology as well as the intuitive and powerful CATC Trace(TM) expert analysis software. Embedded in the CATC Trace is a deep understanding of the individual protocol hierarchy and its intricacies. The CATC Trace presents this knowledge to the user in a colorful and easy-to-use graphical display, allowing users to quickly capture and debug complex designs and systems.
