8/12/2003 - Dexterra, Inc., provider of the best high-value, low-risk field force automation applications and mobile enterprise platform built on the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework, announced the enhanced version 2.0 of Dexterra Field ServiceTM, a prepackaged mobile application for Fortune 1000 enterprise customers. Dexterra Field Service 2.0 automates field service management, real-time monitoring of service calls, logistics management, up-sell and cross-sell capabilities, and financial processing - all while providing one of the best values in field force automation and delivery. The application will be available to customers in late Q3.
One of the ways that Dexterra Field Service 2.0 provides high-value and low-risk for businesses is that customers can quickly and easily optimize their field business processes (ForceFlows) and sub-processes (FieldFlows), as well as develop and configure FieldFlows. This, along with Dexterra Express Delivery, reduces implementation costs and provides rapid end-user adoption; speeding up deployment and further supporting successful mobility implementation. With Field Service 2.0, customers can model their applications based on their enterprise business process needs, regardless if that process is Sales, Service or Delivery. This provides the enterprise with visibility and control over the mobile force, while making the applications easy to use and update.
"The enhanced capabilities in Field Service 2.0 provide the business management with better visibility and control over their mobile force, while minimizing the time to deployment," said Jim O'Farrell, vice president of marketing for Dexterra. "By enabling the mapping of mobile processes to an organization's key business activities and by seamlessly integrating to a company's enterprise information, Dexterra can provide businesses with true high-value and low-risk enterprise mobility. Also, because Dexterra works closely with global partners like Microsoft, HP, and CGE&Y, we can provide Dexterra Field Service 2.0 any where in the world."
In addition, Dexterra has added a Business Object Controller to the mobile device SmartClient(tm), on which all Dexterra applications run, improving performance in all aspects of the client application and eliminating the need for time-consuming and costly coding. Finally, as noted earlier, Dexterra Field Service 2.0 is fully integrated with Dexterra Express Delivery and can be deployed in a usable-demo mode in just a few days for fast, initial feedback from mobile workers who would be using the application and fully implemented in less than 90 days, ensuring that mobile users quickly get an application they can use, with little or no training.
"With Dexterra's low-risk, non-intrusive mobility solutions SDI is able to create leading mobile integrated supply chain solutions," said Ron Fijalkowski, Chief Information Officer of Strategic Distribution, Inc. (SDI), one of Dexterra's partners. "The advantages of the Dexterra Mobility Platform, combined with the unique strengths of Field Service 2.0 will definitely resonate well the mobile needs of the enterprise."
As with all Dexterra applications, Field Service 2.0 runs on the Dexterra Mobility Platform(tm), which is built from the ground up to take advantage of industry-standard XML Web services, Microsoft® .NET and Dexterra patent-pending innovations. The application uses Dexterra Mobility Connectors(tm) to seamlessly integrate 'out-of-the-box' with a range of enterprise data sources, such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel and Oracle. This ensures that the information on the mobile devices remains up-to-date without intrusive programming, or a constant Internet connection.
