Infineon Tests High-speed Wired Communication IC's with Agilent 93000

8/5/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that Infineon Technologies (FSE/NYSE: IFX) has selected the Agilent 93000 SOC test system to test the company's advanced semiconductor devices for high-speed wired communication applications. Infineon's wired communication semiconductors are found in high-speed switching and routing systems at the core of the global telecommunications network.

"The Agilent 93000 gives Infineon the technical capabilities required to test our leading communications products," said Klaus Luther, Senior Director, Corporate Test Technology, Infineon Technologies. "The platform's scalability allows us to cost-effectively test our most advanced communication products."

The upgradeable Agilent 93000 scales up to 10 Gb/s performance, providing a long-term test solution for Infineon's communication product roadmap. Additionally, the large installed base of Agilent 93000 systems among semiconductor contract manufacturers (SCMs) and contract test houses gives Infineon the flexibility to outsource production test of these devices as necessary.

"Infineon's selection of the Agilent 93000 is further proof that the single, scalable test platform concept is the new standard in automated test," said Tom Newsom, vice president and general manager of Agilent's SOC Business Unit. "Leading device manufacturers and SCMs alike realize that the Agilent 93000 is a solid long-term test investment. Agilent will continue to develop cutting-edge test solutions on the Agilent 93000 as our customers raise the bar on device performance."

About the Agilent 93000 SOC Series
The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is the industry's fastest growing, lowest cost single, scalable platform with more than 550 installed systems worldwide. The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is designed to meet both the demanding performance and cost challenges of SOC testing. Models are configured to span the widest range of applications that may require ultra-high-speed digital data rates, up to 10 Gb/s, and the broadest range of mixed-signal and RF capabilities. With this range of capabilities, the 93000 SOC Series is the first choice for subcontract manufacturers (SCMs) and the preference for high-volume manufacturing. More information is available at
