Kane Computing Unveils Networking Daughter Module for TI DSPs

8/25/2003 - Kane Computing have announced a new Networking Peripheral Daughter Module for use with Texas Instruments DSPs.

The DSK.91C111 is an Ethernet Daughter Board for the C6000 and C5000 series of DSK boards from Spectrum Digital and Texas Instruments. It extends DSP Systems with an industry standard 100Base TX / 10Base-T Ethernet interface for distributed control applications, networking, web-based remote configuration and maintenance, and high-speed data link for video, multimedia and telecommunication systems.

A TCP/IP software protocol stack is available, which has been carefully optimised for the special memory and real-time constraints of DSP systems. No underlying real-time operating system is required to integrate the TCP/IP protocol into a DSP system, however, the TCP/IP stack will run under DSP/BIOS.

The DSK.91C111 is available as a board only product, including a single user TCP/IP licence, or as a complete development package with TCP/IP object code library, sample programs and full documentation.

A similar board is available for use with D.Module based DSP systems for use in standalone or embedded systems.

Other communications controllers available from Kane Computing include the bf3Net ethernet daughter board packages and bf3Scp serial communications system with GUI Designer software to provide full-duplex communications between host PCs and DSP sub-systems.
