8/20/2003 - CTPX Telecommunications, Inc., and Multi-Tech Systems, Inc., announced a technology alliance that uses jointly developed technology to combine CTPX’s telephony interface technology with Multi-Tech’s embedded product design and VOIP products. CTPX will supply Multi-Tech its Field Progammable Telephony Interface technology for use in Multi-Tech’s SocketSLIC embedded modules and MultiVOIP voice and fax over IP gateways.
With features such as small footprint, on-board battery and ring-generation, remote programmability, field re-configurations, and on-the-fly telephony parameter adjustments, the “SocketSLIC+” easily blends into many customer applications. Currently the product supports 32 different telephony interface port configurations. Module set-up and status monitoring is done with a UART or SPI host interface. The specified user operation resumes automatically and immediately after power-up.
“Our arrangement with Multi-Tech combines the strengths of our companies into products that are beneficial to both ourselves and our customers,” states Reinhold Henke, Chief Technical Officer for CTPX Telecommunications, Inc. “CTPX products provide a universal deployment and ease-of-use as result of years of technology knowledge. This combined with Multi-Tech’s technology resources, distribution channels, years of data communications experience, worldwide regulatory approvals, and solid reputation gives our customers a better product that can be available anywhere it is needed.”
“This jointly developed telephony module provides the three most popular interfaces needed in communications products along with many others,” states Chip Harlemen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Multi-Tech Systems. “By including the FXS, FXO and E&M interfaces in one programmable module our products can eliminate extra models of products that other suppliers cannot. And beyond those basic interfaces this product also adds further nuances like DID capabilities. It truly is a universal and programmable interface for telephony applications that can save developers time and expense in adding telephony capabilities to their products.”
