8/19/2003 - Dilithium Networks, a leading provider of wireless multimedia solutions, announced that Art Bailey has joined the company as its senior vice president, engineering. Mr. Bailey brings nearly 30 years of carrier class product development and deployment experience to the Dilithium Networks’ engineering team.
Mr. Bailey's product development experience includes Optilink, a Northern California startup that was acquired by DSC Communications, and subsequently by Alcatel, where he served as vice president of technology and engineering for the very successful Litespan Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier product line. Litespan achieved $1B in annual revenue and is the market leader in its product class. It is deployed in every major local exchange carrier in the US with an estimated 50 million wired lines in service. Mr. Bailey built and led a team that grew to 250 professional engineers and technicians with annual operating budgets of $75M. Prior to joining Dilithium Networks, Mr. Bailey served as executive vice president for Westwave Communications where he built the engineering team and Westwave's V-Switch product – the first softswitch to provide media gateway control with class 4 and 5 functionality to both access and trunk gateways.
Mr. Bailey has also held senior product development positions at Network Equipment Technologies and Harris Digital Telephone Systems, where he led engineering teams that delivered highly successful products to enterprise and carrier markets.
