7/31/2003 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced its commitment and continued support of the Microsoft Visual Studio Industry Partner (VSIP) program and the program’s evolution to a more open and available distribution model. Compuware has been a member of the VSIP program since its inception. Through its participation in this program, Compuware was one of the first independent software vendors to demonstrate technologies targeting developers using Visual Studio .NET, and continues to be a leader in providing tools to enable developers to accelerate the development of reliable, high-performing applications.
“We’ve worked extensively with Compuware over the past three years,” said Prashant Sridharan, senior product manager for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division at Microsoft Corp. “Compuware has made innovative use of VSIP integration features and provided invaluable feedback based on its technical experiences from being among the first to provide a deep level of integration with Visual Studio. NET.”
Compuware has used the VSIP Software Development Kit (SDK) extensively since its availability in the development of DevPartner Studio Professional Edition. DevPartner Studio is uniquely equipped to help developers implement the most reliable and high-performing Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 applications.
By making use of the VSIP SDK, DevPartner Studio seamlessly integrates into the Visual Studio .NET 2003 integrated development environment, enabling developers to employ features for code review, automatic error detection, performance and code coverage analysis, and distributed application analysis while using the same familiar Visual Studio .NET 2003 interface and functionality. Using DevPartner Studio with Visual Studio .NET 2003 gives developers an improved confidence in application reliability and performance, as well as provides skill improvements that benefit both the developer and the enterprise over the long-term.
“Compuware has had a strong technical relationship with Microsoft for a number of years,” said Bob Barker, Vice President of Strategic Planning at Compuware Corporation. “Our participation in the VSIP program has enabled us to be among the first to market with compelling features for new releases of Visual Studio .NET and to provide developers with features for building reliable, high-performance applications.”
Compuware continues to set the standard for developer tools that improve application reliability and performance. DevPartner Studio Professional Edition is currently available at a retail price starting at $1,495, with concurrent licensing and volume discounts available. The upcoming new release of DevPartner Studio, available later this summer, will support Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003, and will feature important new capabilities that make it even easier to produce the most robust applications possible.
