Extended Systems Acquires Portion of Workstyle from QUALCOMM

7/29/2003 - Extended Systems (NASDAQ: XTND), a leading provider of mobile information management solutions for the enterprise, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) to acquire certain assets of the Workstyle® business, to begin assuming support responsibilities for the Workstyle customer base and to license the source code of the Workstyle product line developed by Wireless Knowledge, a subsidiary of QUALCOMM.

Extended Systems will offer QUALCOMM’s Workstyle customer base an upgrade from subscription-based services to perpetual licenses. The customer transition from Workstyle to Extended Systems’ XTNDConnect Server is already underway. Aggressive upgrade incentives have been established to allow customers to migrate as quickly as possible. During the transition, Extended Systems and QUALCOMM will work together to ensure that Workstyle customers continue to receive an exceptional level of customer service and support.
