7/28/2003 - Accelent Systems announced that one of the world’s leading manufacturer of notebook computers and mobile devices, chose Accelent Systems’ Schema Development Suite to develop the Toshiba Pocket PC e350/e355 Series. The Toshiba e350/e355 Series are some of the first PDAs released with Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PCs. This achievement demonstrates that developers are choosing Schema Development Suite and using it to successfully expedite mobile devices, with the latest technology, to market.
Schema Development Suite, a tool consisting of over 100 device drivers, accelerates the development of mobile devices such as PDAs, Smart Phones, Web Pads and other embedded devices. It enables rapid development of production-ready Board Support Packages (BSP) that can be integrated into Microsoft operating system tools, including Microsoft Platform Builder.
Schema Development Suite supports the following ARM-based processors and operating systems:
Texas Instruments OMAPTM1510/5910
Samsung 2410 (Technology Preview)
Microsoft Windows CE. NET 4.2
Windows Mobile 2003 Software for Pocket PCs
By supporting multiple processors, operating systems and peripheral chips, a developer enjoys the benefits of a common code base for an entire product family or series. Reduction in support cost, improved code manageability and proven, qualified code are just some of the benefits of a common code base strategy. In addition, Accelent Systems is continuously adding support into the Schema Development Suite tool for new processors, operating systems and peripheral chips. This steady growth of the feature list enables the developer to easily add new features to existing products or develop new products with the latest technology.
“I am pleased to see Accelent Systems’ Schema Development Suite being used to develop leading edge mobile devices like the Toshiba Pocket PC e350/e355 Series,” said Albert McCabe, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Accelent Systems. “Accelent Systems provides a means to expedite products to market at less cost and risk than traditional development methods. And, this is being recognized by many of the OEMs and ODMs in the industry,” continued Mr. McCabe.
