AvantGo, Learn2Hand Deliver French Course to Mobile Users

7/23/2003 - Learn2Hand and the AvantGo® service offer mobile device users a crash course in the French language with the new French2Hand channel. The channel brings together the power of learning and mobile technology to provide AvantGo users with quick and easy French lessons for a variety of situations, anytime, anywhere. Within the channel, users work through a scenario, designed as a twenty-minute bite-sized course that teaches and tests their French knowledge. Users can then purchase additional courses or "nuggets" to cover other popular scenarios such as eating out, business travel or looking for real estate property.

"With mobile knowledge nuggets, learning a language for any situation can be quick, easy and painless. We are bringing unique foreign language lessons to the world's largest mobile service, providing our target audience with quality content while establishing Learn2Hand as the premiere on-the-go language resource," said Richard Lown, CEO of Complete Learning and Learn2Hand.

"French2Hand is a fantastic addition to AvantGo. With over 8 million registered users worldwide, everyone from students to business travelers can learn what they need, when they need it, wherever they are," said Neil Versen, senior director of AvantGo at iAnywhere Solutions. "By combining the elements of learning and mobile technology, French2Hand enables AvantGo users to expand their knowledge and put new languages to work for them in real-world situations."

The French2Hand channel is the first in a series to offer interactive language learning to help users learn or refresh existing knowledge though real scenarios, which are accompanied by related phrases, vocabulary and questions. Additional learning nuggets can be purchased for 4, or about US $6.50, and downloaded to any Pocket PC, Palm or Symbian device. Some of the most popular French2Hand download nuggets include writing business letters, what to do if you're ill, and eating out. To sign up for the new channel, mobile device users can visit www.avantgo.com.
