SiS Expands Testing with Additional Agilent 93000 SOC Systems

7/17/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading supplier of core logic chipsets, has purchased additional Agilent 93000 SOC (System-on-a-Chip) Series test systems to add test capacity for current and future core logic chipsets. The Agilent 93000 SOC Series enables SiS to expedite launch of SiS648FX, the market-leading core logic chipset compatible with the 800 MHz Front-Side Bus (FSB) microprocessor.

The large installed base of 93000 SOC test systems provides SiS with easy access to high-volume manufacturing test capabilities. The system's upgradeable architecture accommodates industry-leading test speeds of up to 2.5 Gb/s, enabling fast and thorough testing of FSB, PCI Express and Serial ATA. The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is the industry's fastest-growing, lowest cost single, scalable platform with over 550 installed systems worldwide.

"Partnering with Agilent provides SiS with high-quality equipment and professional support, which helps SiS speed time to market and time to profit," said Michael T.H Chen, SiS President and CEO, "The scalability and flexibility of the Agilent 93000 SOC Series maximizes our long-term capital investment, and also ensures a smooth ramp to volume production, increasing customer satisfaction."

"When SiS chose to increase its investment in the Agilent 93000 SOC Series is powerful evidence that the system is a true asset to leading semiconductor companies," said Tom Newsom, vice president and general manager of Agilent's SOC Business Unit. "The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is the industry's best solution to performance and cost challenges of SOC testing, and is widely recognized as the standard in modern ATE platforms."
