7/17/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) introduced the Agilent 93000 SOC DFT (design-for-test) Series, a version of its flexible Agilent 93000 SOC (system-on-a-chip) platform. Priced at $399,000, the Agilent 93000 SOC DFT Series provides users with an unmatched one-cent-per-second cost of test, making it the most cost-effective SOC DFT solution available today.
"This is yet another step in Agilent's DFT strategy and commitment to provide our customers with a more economic way to implement DFT methodologies and shorten time to volume," said Asad Aziz, product manager, Automated Test Group, Agilent Technologies. "It started over two years ago with our EDA partnerships, work on standards, and recent introduction of our SmartTest PG CTL browser, and will continue as we deliver additional products and services. Our goal for the Agilent 93000 DFT Series is to provide a scalable SOC DFT solution that gives users the ability to reap the benefit of their investment in DFT techniques without sacrificing quality or time to market."
The Agilent 93000 DFT Series is based upon Agilent's proven 93000 SOC Series single, scalable platform, and includes the test processor per pin architecture (TPPA). The TPPA allows users to set up cores for independent operation and concurrent test, helping reduce test time by 30-50 percent. The TPPA also provides enhanced capabilities for SOC DFT diagnostics such as "selective BIST capture" to help diagnose failures detected in the test process. The Agilent 93000 DFT Series includes SmartTest PG CTL Browser, the industry's first test program generation environment to offer direct support for the proposed IEEE P1450.6 Core Test Language (CTL) and other standards. CTL provides a standard interface between the EDA environment and the ATE environment, allowing faster turn-on and debug cycles for SOCs, resulting in faster time to market.
About the Agilent 93000 SOC Series
The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is the industry's fastest growing, lowest cost single, scalable platform with more than 550 installed systems worldwide. The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is designed to meet both the demanding performance and cost challenges of SOC testing. Models are configured to span the widest range of applications that may require ultra-high-speed digital data rates, up to 10 Gb/s, and the broadest range of mixed-signal and RF capabilities. With this range of capabilities, the 93000 SOC Series is the first choice for high-volume manufacturing test solutions. More information is available at www.agilent.com/see/soctest.
