M-Systems Goes Green with ISO 14001 Environmental Certification

7/10/2003 - M-Systems (Nasdaq: FLSH), a leader in flash-based data storage products, was awarded ISO 14001 certification by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The certification is an indication that the Company's environmental management system (EMS) complies with internationally set standards.

Earlier this year, M-Systems established its EMS to promote environmental protection on a company-wide basis. A number of "green" initiatives have been implemented, including increased recycling, efficient use of resources and decreased use of lead-based solder and other hazardous materials. M-Systems products, such as the Mobile DiskOnChip line of flash disks, are available without lead.

In addition to environmentally-friendly manufacturing processes, M-Systems has expanded its 'green' efforts into daily office operations. The Company has also contributed to the community through various charitable and service activities.

"As a company that cares for its community and the world, we are committed to international environmental standards. This certification shows that we are part of the worldwide 'green' effort to reduce the impact of manufacturing processes and waste on the environment. Our customers can be assured that we comply with ISO standards," said Gail Morag, director of quality systems for M-Systems, "Our environmental program improves quality, lowers costs and is ultimately beneficial for our customers, employees and the communities in which we operate."

ISO 14001, published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), specifies policy and procedural standards to promote sound environmental practices.
