7/9/2003 - Jungo Software Technologies Inc., a leading provider of driver development software tools, announced that Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) has added an evaluation version of Jungo’s new WinDriver development tool to its EZ-USB, EZ-USB FX and EZ-USB FX2 peripheral controller development kits.
WinDriver is a wizard-based tool that makes it simple for manufacturers designing products with Cypress’s EZ-USB family of peripheral controllers to add Windows, Linux and Windows CE.NET drivers support to their products. WinDriver is the only cross-platform tool enabling USB driver development for desktop and embedded operating systems.
"The numerous operating systems supported by Jungo WinDriver allow Cypress to provide a more complete solution to its EZ-USB customers by enabling transparent hardware access across different platforms as well as speeding and simplifying the driver development cycle," said Cedric van Rossum, USB product manager for Cypress’s Personal Communications Division. "We selected WinDriver for its stability, ease of use and the optimal performance it provides USB developers."
"Cypress is a leading vendor of USB device controllers, and joining forces with Jungo will provide Cypress customers with the best and easiest solution for their USB driver development needs," said Ophir Herbst, general manager, Jungo Software Tools Division. "The combined solution is expected to enable USB developers to get their products to market faster by allowing engineers to focus on core technologies."
WinDriver provides graphical development environments, immediate hardware access and automatic USB driver code generation capabilities, driver debugging utilities and samples to eliminate driver development bottlenecks and accelerate the device development cycle. The toolkit featured in Cypress development kits includes APIs, specifically customized for Cypress’s EZ-USB family, that will help accelerate USB driver development. WinDriver supports USB driver development under Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP and Server 2003, Windows CE .NET and Linux, with driver code being compatible across the supported operating systems.
Full-featured 30-day evaluation versions of WinDriver are being bundled in the Cypress EZ-USB development kits starting in July. The WinDriver evaluation version is also available for download from the Jungo web site at www.jungo.com/dnload.html. Jungo's driver development tools may be purchased from Jungo directly, or via a Jungo worldwide reseller.
