7/3/2003 - Parasoft, the world’s leading provider of Automated Error Prevention software solutions, announced that Lehman Brothers, Siebel, and Countrywide have selected Parasoft tools to help them prevent software errors.
By automating practices such as unit testing, static analysis, and regression testing, Parasoft tools support the principle of Automated Error Prevention, which advocates the use of technology and processes to prevent errors in software. Automated Error Prevention is based on five simple steps; 1) detect an error, 2) isolate the cause of the error, 3) Locate the point in production that created the error, 4) implement practices to prevent the error from reoccuring and 5) monitor for improvements.
Lehman Brothers and Countrywide recently chose Jtest, Parasoft’s automated unit testing and static analysis tool for Java. Jtest greatly reduces time spent chasing and fixing software errors by automatically generating test cases to test code construction and functionality. Jtest automatically enforces over 300 industry-respected coding standards allowing development teams to prevent the most common and damaging errors. As companies identify errors throughout the development process, Jtest also enables them to implement custom coding standards to prevent those errors from occuring in future projects or iterations.
Siebel selected CodeWizard, an advanced C/C++ source code analysis tool that uses over 300 industry-respected coding guidelines to automatically identify dangerous coding constructs that compilers do not detect. CodeWizard makes it easy to create new, customized rules through the RuleWizard feature, and can also suppress rules for customized analysis. When used on a daily basis, CodeWizard simplifies code reviews making code more stable and also helps prevent future errors from being introduced.
"These companies understand that in today’s market, the ability to produce reliable software is a critcal element in the success of a business," said Mark Johnson, Parasoft’s Senior Vice President of Sales. "By using Parasoft products to prevent software errors they can proactively reduce sofware errors, improve productivity, reduce risk and boost revenues."
