6/30/2003 - Ashling Microsystems has announced the availability of a full set of development tools for Atmel 's AT91 ARM Thumb-based embedded microcontroller architecture.
Ashling provides a full range of emulation, debug and trace tools to support the AT91 series. By applying Ashling's powerful real-time debug technology, the Ashling tools design team will ensure that users of Atmel's ARM-based microcontrollers can benefit from a powerful and flexible development and debug toolset from the outset.
The built-in processing power of the Ashling emulation system and its sophisticated debugger interface, fine-tuned for the Atmel AT91 architecture, ensure rapid and trouble-free deployment of the development environment. In turn, this provides the developer with a fast, low-risk product development process. Future adopters of Atmel's embedded ARM microcontrollers will gain from the power of the Ashling toolset to develop, debug, test and validate their applications.
Commenting on the product release, John Murphy, Managing Director of Ashling Microsystems, Ltd. said "This co-operation means that users of Atmel's AT91 ARM-based embedded microcontroller architecture can utilize the Ashling toolset to get their products to market quickly and reliably. We're excited at this opportunity to support Atmel and to further strengthen our business relationship."
"We are pleased that Ashling has invested the resources to support our AT91-series", said Jean-Christophe Zettel manager of Atmel's ARM-based application team. "Ashling's expertise in hardware and software development tools complements Atmel's experience in ARM-based microcontroller architecture and applications. Customers can access an effective set of tools to help them to bring innovative products and applications to market quickly."
The Ashling toolset, available now, will deliver the essential tools for design starts on the AT91 ARM microcontrollers. The full environment includes a JTAG emulator and a real-time trace system, together with Ashling's flagship "PathFinder" Source Debugger.
