6/30/2003 - Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTEC), for over two decades the company driving the global core system software standard in hundreds of millions of PC systems and connected digital devices, announced that the company was nominated at the System Builder Summit Europe in Monaco in four categories including Best Vendor, Best Software, Best presentation, and Best Marketing Program of the event along with Microsoft, Roxio, ATI and Logitech. Phoenix showcased its Phoenix Core Managed Environment (cME) platform and Firstware family of applications, and was selected from more than 70 pan-European vendor companies as the winner for Best Presentation. The awards were voted on solely by the attending system builders which represented the top 200 European PC assemblers.
“We are honored to be recognized by hundreds of European systems builders at this important industry event,” said Albert E. Sisto, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer. “Systems builders are an important channel for our business, and we continue to deliver solutions that enable them to drive additional value, decrease their time to market, and enhance brand and product differentiation.”
Phoenix has focused on expanding its presence in the system builder channel, which accounts for about 58% of worldwide PC sales. As a result, system builders worldwide are quickly adopting the Phoenix Core Managed Environment (cME) platform, announced earlier this year. This open software platform, centered around BIOS, enables device manufacturers and other software vendors to drive functionality and value to the heart of the PCs and other digital devices. Phoenix cME applications that run from the cME platform include utilities, productivity, security and content delivery tools. Since its launch, dozens of systems builders worldwide have adopted the technology and are building it into their machines.
