The Conference & the Advisory Committee
The Net-atHome2003 Conference (October 30 & 31), will be run in plenary thematic sessions addressing the key questions raised by the markets for "Home Networks & Gateways, Connected Appliances and Value-Added Services". Seven appropriate themes have been identified

  • Asian markets: the new top priority?
  • Today's drivers: Internet sharing, networked AV apps, wireless?
  • In-home PLC markets: are they emerging in Europe?
  • Aging in place: is it a key market segment?
  • Consumer needs: what do we really know?
  • Networking & Connecting Homes today: solutions and problems!
  • From Trials to Deployments: how long should we wait?

Papers will be given by approximately 40 top level speakers, chosen by the event's Advisory Committee (chaired by Homega Research and represented by leading industry associations in the field) to ensure complete coverage of the event's core theme: "The current state and future prospects for the connected home markets". The Pre-Conference Workshop
The Pre-Conference Workshop (October 29) aims to place the information collected and analyzed by Homega Research during the past year at the disposal of the participants. From this information, it also sets out to present items that, in the opinion of Homega Research, are essential and best characterize the development of the market and its main short and medium term trends. The Pre-Conference Workshop will be chaired by Roger Torrenti, CEO of Sigma Consultants and Homega Research. Assisted by analysts from Homega Research, Roger Torrenti will make a 4-hour review of the milestones of 2003 and in particular those of the last few months - technological and regulatory developments, market feedback, pilot projects, the moves made by key players, quantitative data relating to the various market segments, consumer demand, etc. Using his expertise and the conclusions of studies conducted by Homega Research, Roger Torrenti will strive throughout his report to underline why particular information appears to be particularly important, how it should be interpreted, what should be deduced from it, etc. "In order to make my presentation even more complete, more concrete and closer to market realities at various points, I will invite headline makers from around the world to speak directly and to interact with me and with the audience" adds Roger Torrenti. To be noted: the Workshop targets both new companies and those already positioned on the market. www.net-athome.com/event03 or info@net-athome.com
