Avaya Goes Wireless with Extended Systems' OneBridge Mobile Platform

6/26/2003 - Extended Systems (NASDAQ: XTND), a leading provider of mobile information management solutions for the enterprise, announced that the company has entered into an OEM and technology agreement with Avaya Inc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Extended Systems will provide its OneBridge Mobile Platform technology to Avaya for inclusion in the company’s unified communication solutions portfolio of products, extending wireless data access to communications applications such as messaging, call processing, conferencing, and notifications. With the integration of Extended Systems’ technology, Avaya customers will now be able to access application information online or offline from any mobile device including smart phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), pagers, and standard desktop browsers.

The agreement also engages Extended Systems’ professional services organization to build mobile enterprise applications that will interoperate with Avaya communications solutions such as Avaya Unified Communication Center, extending existing UCC offerings to mobile and wireless devices.
