Cypress Takes it EZ with USB On-The-Go Web Seminar
6/20/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: CY) — the industry leader in USB — announced that it will host a one hour web seminar entitled "EZ-Host and EZ-OTG: Multi-role and USB On-The-Go Solutions."
The seminar, to be presented by Brian Booker, product manager for Cypress’s USB Embedded Host and OTG products, will focus on how to deploy USB On-The-Go solutions in embedded systems, covering such areas as application requirements and software support. The program will also include an overview of Cypress’s product portfolio.
USB On-The-Go is an effort spearheaded by the USB Implementers Forum to define criteria for designing dual-role USB host/peripheral functionality into portable devices. The supplement to the USB 2.0 specification enables manufacturers to deploy products that can communicate and exchange information with each other directly without relying on a host PC. Cypress’s EZ-Host solutions are targeted at standalone embedded applications, including DVD players, set-top boxes, Internet appliances and print servers; whereas EZ-OTG provides connectivity between portable devices, such as cell phones, PDAs, video and digital still cameras, MP3 players and mass storage peripherals.
