6/20/2003 - Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) will present at the International Conference on Engineering of Reconfigurable Systems and Algorithms (ERSA ’03) in Las Vegas next week. Titled “Building the System You Need - Altera FPGA Technology Provides Innovative Solution for Evolving Market Needs,” the presentation will discuss how the combination of Altera’s Nios® embedded processor, system development tools, and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) such as the StratixTM device family enable the development of reconfigurable, high-performance systems.
By implementing Altera’s Nios embedded processor, designers can simplify their system configuration and take advantage of high-performance FPGA features such as digital signal processing (DSP) blocks, TriMatrixTM memory, and gigabit transceiver blocks. These features enable hardware acceleration of performance critical functions, allowing FPGAs to be used as co-processors. In addition, Altera’s SOPC Builder and DSP Builder system development tools speed the design of complex systems while providing an easy-to-use platform for targeting Altera’s high-performance programmable logic device families.
