6/18/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that Winstek Semiconductor Corporation ("Winstek"), a premier integrated circuit (IC) testing company in Taiwan, has purchased and installed 15 new Agilent 93000 SOC Series test systems. The purchase expands Winstek's capacity to test complex mixed-signal ICs for high-end consumer and communication devices including cellular phones and personal data assistants (PDAs).
According to research data published by TSIA 2002, Taiwan's total sales output for testing was $921.7 million, and included steady growth of consumer ICs(1). Winstek, based in Taiwan, provides testing services for a variety of device types, including complex digital logic, communication interfaces and mixed-signal devices. The Agilent 93000 single scalable platform provides Winstek with a high-performance test solution that delivers low cost of test. Featuring up to 1,024 digital pins and full support for mixed-signal measurements, the Agilent 93000 enhances Winstek's mixed-signal test capacity to meet the rising demand for these chips in consumer electronics and communication devices.
"Winstek is ramping up for the vigorous consumer and communication IC market," said Richard Weng, chairman and president of Winstek. "The Agilent 93000's versatility and upgradeability not only align with Winstek's strategy to provide best-in-class performance at competitive cost, but also protects our long-term capital investments."
"Once again, Winstek's choice of the Agilent 93000 reinforces Agilent's market leadership in mixed-signal test," said David Huang, vice president and global subcontract manufacturing general manager for Agilent Technologies. "The strong collaboration between Winstek and Agilent ensures delivery of high-performance, low-cost testing solutions to the consumer and communication electronics market."
