Sun Expands Java Resources with JavaOne Online Program

6/16/2003 - Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW) announced the JavaOne(sm) Online program, which is designed to deliver key components of the JavaOne conference year round. JavaOne Online -- which is located at -- enables more developers to expand their education on Java technology from industry experts, become a part of the JavaOne community, and experience the networking offerings previously only available to JavaOne attendees.

The JavaOne Online program was created to reach the millions of Java technology developers who cannot attend the physical JavaOne conferences. Using a virtual model, there are no limits to the number of "attendees" who can visit JavaOne Online. With 365-day, 24-hour access, JavaOne Online offers open access to both the U.S. and international developer community.

For $99.95 USD, the JavaOne Online program offers a one-year subscription with a constant stream of informative conference content. At the Web site, JavaOne 2002 multimedia conference sessions, a JavaOne Pavilion, streaming video of general sessions, classified ads, Java games, a store, Webinars and feature articles are available. JavaOne 2003 multimedia sessions, Birds-of-a-Feather sessions with audio and transcripts, forums, labs and a bookstore with discounts will be available at JavaOne Online in August.

"We're continuing the momentum of the JavaOne conference by creating a year-round global community of Java technology developers online," said Mike Bellissimo, senior director of Software Developer Marketing and Management, Sun Microsystems. "Sun wants to extend the physical JavaOne event to a virtual experience, one that enables developers to do more with Java by connecting with each other to find solutions, discuss issues and stay in contact with the JavaOne community and Sun."
