Compuware Expands Platform Support in Latest DevPartner Java Suite

6/11/2003 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced the availability of Compuware DevPartner Java Edition 3.0.1, the latest version of its software development productivity suite. With expanded platform support, including compatibility with IBM AIX and the SunONE Application server, DevPartner Java Edition 3.0.1 will enable a broader base of enterprise customers to accelerate the delivery of reliable, high-performance Java applications.

"Development organizations are under immense pressure to rapidly deliver and deploy high-quality Java applications," said Upside Research analyst David Kelly. "But in order to deliver enterprise Java applications that perform correctly when deployed in server environments and do not denigrate over time, organizations should be evaluating development tools that can provide practical approaches for eliminating memory problems and reduce performance problems. Memory error detection and performance analysis tools are critical weapons in Java performance and reliability wars."

DevPartner Java Edition uses powerful analysis and profiling techniques to help Java developers understand how their applications behave before an application is deployed. This helps companies decrease time-to-market, reduce development costs and increase developer productivity, ensuring the development of high-quality, high-performing Java applications. Version 3.0.1 includes updates to support the latest versions of the leading application servers, Integrated Development Environments and Java runtime environments. Specifically, DevPartner Java Edition Version 3.0.1 extends support for IBM WebSphere release 5 of Application Server and Application Developer, release 9.0.3 of Oracle9i Application Server and JDeveloper, Sun JDK 1.4, Apache Tomcat 4.1, Borland JBuilder 8.0, IBM AIX 5.1 & 5.2 and Redhat Linux 8.0.

DevPartner Java Edition integrates with Compuware OptimalJ, a leading model-driven, pattern-based J2EE development tool. OptimalJ and DevPartner Java Edition help accelerate and improve Java application development, debugging, testing, and deployment while ensuring software reliability, scalability and performance.

"Companies should not have to choose between developing applications quickly or developing them with a high level of performance and reliability," said Shari Zedeck, Product Line Manager for the Compuware DevPartner and DriverStudio product families. "DevPartner Java Edition 3.0.1 features enhanced usability and a close fit with how developers work, which will increase the speed at which they can deliver high-quality high-performing applications."

DevPartner Java Edition 3.0.1 is generally available now at a U.S. price of $1,495 per seat. Concurrent user and server licensing are optional with version 3.0.1. Volume discounts are available.
