Wharton Awards Fujitsu Siemens for Creative Application of Technology

6/10/2003 - Fujitsu Siemens Computers announced that it has been awarded the Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award in the category Organization-Wide Transformation. The award, which recognizes organizations with annual revenues greater than $ 1 billion that have transformed their business or industry through the creative application of technology, was accepted by President & CEO Adrian v. Hammerstein on behalf of the company.

“Information technology investments need to be closely linked to business strategy and owned by business management, particularly in a difficult economic environment” said Adrian v. Hammerstein, President and CEO Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “Consolidating and innovating our information technology infrastructure and applications benefited us in two ways – it significantly reduced cost and provided the basis for efficiently integrating our supply chain with our channel partners, which is serving to leverage our growth in the channel.”

Fujitsu Siemens Computers was selected for demonstrating best practices in the use of information technology to change the way the company does business, and thereby positively influencing its bottom line.

This was the second award that Fujitsu Siemens Computers has been presented with this year. The first was the International Industrial Excellence Award 2003 awarded to the factory in Augsburg, which produces mainboards, SCENIC Professional PCs and Intel-based PRIMERGY servers as well as other equipment. Created by the French management school INSEAD and the German business school WHU (Graduate School of Management), the competition examined process quality, including customer and supplier integration, management of innovation and strategy implementation. The key selection criterion was the ability to adapt quickly and flexibly to constantly changing market conditions.
