Agilent Provides RF, IF, Microwave Processing Tools to Mini-Circuits

6/4/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that Mini-Circuits has selected Agilent to provide a multi-year package of RF (radio frequency) and microwave electronic design automation (EDA) software and global support for its engineering and production facilities located around the world. The Agilent Advanced Design System (ADS) EDA software helps streamline design processes and improve productivity of RF, IF (intermediate frequency) and microwave signal processing component development for commercial, industrial and military applications.

"Mini-Circuits' trust in Agilent's ability to provide a customized mix of their most advanced tools, such as the new Advanced Model Composer, led to our selection of ADS," said Harvey Kaylie, president of Mini-Circuits. "Whether our engineers are located in Malaysia, India, Israel, Sacramento, Calif. or Brooklyn, N.Y., these new tools and global coverage will enable us to make better use of our EDA investment and improve the productivity of our engineers."

"Mini-Circuits is a global leader in RF, IF and microwave signal processing components," said Jim Tabuchi, marketing services manager at Agilent EEsof EDA. "Mini-Circuits will benefit from ADS' advanced simulation capabilities and common platform, which will allow their worldwide engineering force to operate seamlessly across geographies to help them succeed in the marketplace."

Agilent ADS 2003A offers advanced simulation and verification technologies to system and circuit design engineers of complex discrete RF/microwave modules and integrated MMICs (monolithic microwave integrated circuits) for communications and aerospace and defense applications. Agilent's on-site consulting services, provided by its global network of EDA specialists, help companies align design processes, reduce design turns and maximize output.

Agilent ADS 2003A supports the following operating systems: Microsoft(r) Windows(r) NT 4.0/2000/XP, HP-UX 11.0, and Sun(tm) Solaris 7/8/9. More information on Agilent ADS products is available at
