6/4/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that the Agilent OSS Data Mining Toolkit is now available for use with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Signaling System 7 (SS7) technologies. This solution now uses data derived from ANSI SS7, giving North American service providers advanced analysis and reporting capabilities for strategic business decision support in network, service and revenue assurance.
The Data Mining Toolkit solves the immediate needs of a wide range of users, while providing the tools to rapidly evolve the system to meet new challenges as they arise. With the ability to intuitively interrogate collected data, network operations personnel can identify and isolate both congested and underused network resources to optimize network use and planning. Sales and marketing personnel can use different views of the same underlying data to easily and flexibly measure and analyze new services and track marketing promotions. Wholesale billing personnel can analyze the data to discover arbitrage and other suspicious activity that negatively impact their revenues. With the ability to access timely and relevant data, managers can determine reasons for success or failure of various aspects of their business, improving their ability to make critical decisions that affect profitability.
Built on Agilent's proven acceSS7 business intelligence technology, the Data Mining Toolkit enables users to formulate queries on wireless and wireline calls and transactions. With on-line analytic processing, users view complex datasets at their desktops in simple tabular and graphical form. The software includes pre-packaged, customizable reports and graphical views.
