Cypress Commits to Quality with ISO 9001:2000 Certification

6/4/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: CY) announced that it had received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification, the newest and most demanding of the ISO 9001 standards. The certification covers all Cypress locations and their commitment to provide the highest quality products and services to customers.

Cypress has now successfully achieved the new, more rigorous Quality Management System standard for the ISO9001:2000 certification. This certificate underscores Cypress’s commitment to sustaining a strict Quality Management System—a method for continually improving systems that provide consistently high-quality products and services. In addition, this certificate offers customers and business partners the assurance from an independent body that Cypress is committed to—and has the processes in place for—managing its quality through the appropriate systems.

“Achieving the ISO 9001:2000 certification reinforces Cypress’s drive towards achieving total customer satisfaction—a major corporatewide initiative,” said Francis Courreges, VP of Quality for Cypress Semiconductor Corporation. “A major portion of this audit involved customer-focused elements, including meeting customer requirements and keeping them informed of quality standards. This involved enhancing our automated workflows in the i2 and Oracle databases; improving tools for document management; and enhancing the company’s intranet to provide full traceability on management decisions. The ISO certification provides customers with a higher-level of confidence in our process and systems.”

Representing an industry-recognized level of quality, an ISO certification reduces a company's need to spend time and money auditing suppliers who are ISO-certified. The demanding requirements for the ISO 9001:2000 certification gives customers added confidence in their decision to partner with Cypress.
