Mentor Graphics Names New VP, GM of Design-to-Silicon Division

6/2/2003 - Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT), the marketshare leader in physical verification and resolution enhancement technology, announced that Joseph Sawicki has been promoted to vice president and general manager of the company's Design-to-Silicon division.

"Mentor's Calibre® product line has rapidly expanded from a point tool for physical verification to a design-to-silicon platform providing a full flow for IC manufacture," states Walden C. The extensive Calibre design-to-silicon platform of software tools has experienced remarkable growth over the last four years -- driven by a forward-looking roadmap which anticipated trends in the semiconductor industry such as increasing design complexity and a shift to nanometer process technology.

Sawicki (42), was most recently the general manager of Mentor's Physical Verification division and has been with Mentor for over 13 years holding positions in application engineering, sales, marketing and management. He holds a BSEE from the University of Rochester and an MBA from Northeastern University's High Technology Program.
