CSR Rolls Out 10 Millionth Single-chip BlueCore Device for Bluetooth

5/30/2003 - CSR (Cambridge Silicon Radio), the Bluetooth wireless technology industry leader, announced that it has shipped its 10 millionth single-chip device for Bluetooth. The company's BlueCore devices are designed into more than 350 Bluetooth approved products, from 130 different customers – including many of the world’s major suppliers of electronic equipment such as CompaqHP, GN Netcom, IBM, Logitech, Microsoft, Motorola Corp, NEC, Siemens and Sony.

CSR is a leader in Bluetooth and its products are designed into 60% of all v1.1 Bluetooth end products, as listed on the official Bluetooth Website. Applications include desktop and laptop PCs, PDAs, printers, cameras, camcorders, cell phones, headsets and many PC cards and dongles. BlueCore is the most highly developed, robust and reliable Bluetooth technology available in the market today, providing engineers with a low risk, high performance solution to Bluetooth-enabling end products.

John Hodgson, Chief Executive Officer, commented, “This landmark is important because it demonstrates both that CSR is delivering in high volume and Bluetooth is an established production technology already shipping in higher volumes than 802.11b WiFi. We have focused on innovation and understanding the requirements of the many applications and I believe that we are well positioned to continue to capitalize on the growth in this exciting market.”
