5/23/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) introduced the Agilent Packaged Support Solutions (PSS), a new portfolio of service and support solutions for owners of the Agilent 93000 SOC Series. PSS is a collection of streamlined, cost-effective service packages, with each package designed to meet individual business needs, while optimizing the cost/coverage balance of the solution.
"Customers demand a responsive, flexible service and support network to ensure maximum uptime, yield and throughput," said Dan Hutcheson, president of VLSI Research. "These comprehensive value-added services are yet another example of how Agilent has become a leading player in semiconductor test equipment -- by anticipating evolving customer needs."
"Agilent's PSS builds on the success of the Agilent 93000 test system by deploying service and support that helps companies maximize their return on investment," said Tom Newsom, vice president and general manager of Agilent's SOC Business Unit. "PSS provides owners of the Agilent 93000 test system with a cost-effective mix of proactive and reactive service and support products that help them manage their tester resources to meet their business objectives."
PSS includes Value, Preferred, and Premier support levels, which scale to the service needs of different types of Agilent 93000 customers. Within each level, customers can choose between engineering or production support to further optimize the cost/coverage balance of the solution. Every version of PSS covers all 93000 SOC Series system components, including hardware, calibration, regular software updates, training credits, technical information through the Web, and secure remote access. Customers of Preferred and Premier PSS receive additional coverage, including a production-critical account team, a customer-specific Web portal, production support, software release planning and installation, account support reviews, and a dedicated support account manager.
