ARTiSAN Flies with BAE SYSTEMS' Joint Strike Fighter Aircraft

5/16/2003 - ARTiSAN Software Tools, a global leader for UML-based, real-time systems and software modeling tools, announced that BAE SYSTEMS IEWS, a recognized leader in the field of systems, defense, and aerospace engineering, has selected ARTiSAN's Real-time Studio Professional as its corporate standard tool for systems development on all systems modeling projects, including the Joint Strike Fighter Aircraft. BAE SYSTEMS is one of the two main subcontractors on the JSF program.

"We began our tool evaluation roughly two years ago," stated Stewart Farnham, Manager of Engineering Design Environment Engineering. "After a year of evaluation, we came to the initial conclusion that Real-time Studio was the most appropriate systems modeling tool for our programs. We used RtS on several pilot programs over the past year, and can now say that our decision has been validated. RtS was selected because of its specific support for systems engineering, ease of use and model consistency through the data dictionary, and its ability to support large distributed programs."

Jeremy Goulding, President and CEO of ARTiSAN Software commented, "We're very happy that Real-time Studio is taking such an important role in the development of the Joint Strike Fighter and BAE SYSTEMS IEWS' other programs. Whenever you win an evaluation as competitive as this one, where multiple pilot projects are conducted to ensure that the tools in question are the best fit for the project, you've got a tremendous endorsement that you're going in the right direction. We're looking forward to building a strong partnership with BAE SYSTEMS and ensuring that their choice of UML tool fits seamlessly into their systems engineering process."
