5/15/2003 - Red Hat, Inc. (Nasdaq:RHAT), the world's premier open source and Linux provider, announced that W. Steve Albrecht, Associate Dean of the Marriott School of Management and Arthur Anderson Professor at Brigham Young University, has joined Red Hat's board of directors. Dr. Albrecht, a certified public accountant, certified internal auditor and certified fraud examiner, has consulted with a variety of Fortune 500 companies, major financial institutions, the United Nations, and the FBI.

The most significant has been the Cressey Award from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the highest honor given for a lifetime of achievement in fraud detection and deterrence. Dr. Albrecht has been the author and co-author on over 20 books and 80 professional journal articles on business fraud and other accounting-related topics. His textbooks on financial and managerial accounting principles are in their 8th editions. Dr. Albrecht holds a PhD, Accounting from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, an MBA from University of Wisconsin at Madison and a BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University.
