5/14/2003 - IP Infusion, a leading provider of intelligent network software for enhanced IP services, announced that Crossbeam Systems has selected its ZebOS® Advanced Routing Suite to provide scalable, carrier-class, high performance routing software for its flagship X40 security services switch. Crossbeam has licensed IP Infusion's routing software and will integrate the routing framework into the X40. Customers with large routed networks can seamlessly create a secure routed infrastructure with the X40 and ZebOS Advanced Routing Suite.
This integration will give customers the capability to run dynamic routing protocols, exchange routing information, and provide alternative link failover capabilities with other routing systems in complex network environments in conjunction with the multi-layered security processing already provided by the X40. In addition, Crossbeam will integrate the ZebOS management utilities into their management environment to provide a single framework for managing and monitoring both the routing and security applications.
"We are pleased to have been selected by Crossbeam Systems to provide routing protocols in their X40. We feel that our scalability and modularity fit well with Crossbeam's high performance, multi-blade, highly available architecture," said Gary Hemminger, vice president of marketing for IP Infusion. "With our routing software, Crossbeam's X40 product will be able to act as a full peer in complex network routing environments. This provides additional high-availability support, alternative routing capabilities, and reduced operational costs."
"Effective partnering is a key strategy that has helped Crossbeam achieve its early goals in the marketplace," said Mat Mathews, director of product management for Crossbeam. "IP Infusion is an important technology partner that helps us to make our X40 an even more invaluable piece of our customers safer, simpler networks."
