5/14/2003 - Xiran, a division of SimpleTech focused on developing content delivery solutions, is demonstrating its DirectPath STM-1000 streaming media server at the Global IPv6 Summit, May 12-14, 2003. Incorporating the company's patented DirectPath architecture, the STM-1000 offers Gigabit per second delivery of rich media streams, while reducing the cost of ownership for streaming media platforms by more than 75 percent.
"The Global IPv6 Summit is the ideal venue for demonstrating the interoperability and high performance of our content delivery platform with IPv6 networks," said Jeanclaude Toma, vice president of marketing and business development for Xiran. "IPv6, or Internet Protocol version 6, is the next generation protocol designed to accommodate the constantly increasing number of users, as well as provide improved Quality of Service and enhanced technical capabilities on the Internet. Xiran's innovative DirectPath architecture is the next generation content delivery platform for the emerging wired and wireless IPv6-based global networks."
"In addition to the STM-1000 system demonstration, we are presenting a technical paper describing how Xiran's DirectPath architecture can offer drastic performance improvements in the delivery of broadband media and data over IPv6-enabled networks. Our architecture provides the flexibility and scalability to deliver fast throughput as user connectivity expands in IPv6-based networks," said Vahid Ordoubadian, vice president of engineering for Xiran.
The STM-1000 system is platform and format agnostic. A single STM-1000 can replace multiple streaming media systems serving Real(R), Microsoft(R), QuickTime(R), MPEG-4 and other popular media formats at Gigabit per second wire speeds.
The Global IPv6 Summit, jointly sponsored by the IPv6 Forum and Consulintel, is focused on the progress and dissemination of initiatives to foster the worldwide deployment of IPv6.
