5/8/2003 - Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CDN) announced it has appointed Leslie J. Rechan as senior vice president and general manager of Worldwide Field Operations for North America.
"Les is the right leader for our North American Worldwide Field Operations as we focus on tighter integration of sales, support and services for customers," said Kevin Bushby, executive vice president, Worldwide Field Operations at Cadence. "Throughout his career, Les has demonstrated strong leadership, operational excellence, a deep commitment to customers and a tireless desire to create success in an organization."
Rechan joins a worldwide team of Cadence regional general managers located in Europe, Asia Pacific and Japan.
"This tighter integration will yield greater operational efficiencies and cross-functional effectiveness that will result in our ability to better serve our broad and varied customer base," Bushby said.
Rechan brings to Cadence more than 20 years of information technology solutions experience from two industry-leading organizations, IBM and Onyx Software. At IBM, Rechan held leadership positions across field sales, systems engineering, services, solutions, development, and general management in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. At Onyx, he served as president and chief operating officer, responsible for global sales, marketing, business development, alliances and services.
Rechan received a bachelor of science degree from Brown University and a master's in management from the Kellogg School, Northwestern University.
