Cypress Semiconductor, TightLink Become Tight Collaboration Partners
5/7/2003 - TightLink Corporation and Cypress Semiconductor Corporation announced the signing of a worldwide site license agreement for TightLink Solution Server technology that will be used by Cypress for a variety of internal and customer-facing business applications. Cypress Semiconductor has been using TightLink for the last year in a hosted collaborative-customer and field-support application that includes automated technical support capabilities.
This agreement expands the relationship to include a wide range of other applications across Cypress’s sales, marketing, product and engineering groups. Cypress will be developing the applications cooperatively with TightLink and moving to a licensed application model in the process.
“Our vision is to build a top-to-bottom collaborative enterprise that directly connects our customers, distributors and employees in a seamless, efficient business operation,” said Ralph Schmitt, senior vice president of North American sales for Cypress. “We can achieve that goal with TightLink, which will enable us to deliver unique collaboration, integration and case management capabilities in a fraction of the time and effort of other solutions.”
“TightLink’s functionality enabled Cypress to build its ConnectionCenterTM, part of a corporate-wide customer satisfaction initiative,” Schmitt added. “ConnectionCenter includes an online support system that enables design engineers to solve many technical problems on their own by browsing a database of accumulated cases and articles. The system has freed Cypress’s applications engineers to focus on revenue-producing designs in customer systems.”
