EDN Presents Agilent with Two Innovation of the Year Awards

5/1/2003 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that it has won two EDN magazine 2002 Innovation of the Year awards. Agilent's high-performance InfiniiMax active probes won in the test and measurement category, and Agilent Fault Detective Test Analyzer won in the software category.

"The EDN Innovation and Innovator of the Year Awards highlight the forces, products and people that drive our industry," said Bill Schweber, executive editor at EDN magazine. "The winning products represent clear and significant innovation and excellence in a very competitive environment."

The high-bandwidth Agilent InfiniiMax 1130 series active probes offer R&D engineers in the computer, communications and semiconductor industries single-ended and differential measurements up to 7 GHz. Agilent InfiniiMax active probes provide unmatched connectivity to full bandwidth even in the most difficult-to-reach situations, such as probing between memory modules on server motherboards. When paired with the Agilent Infiniium series of 2.5 to 6 GHz real-time oscilloscopes that provide four full-bandwidth, 20 GSa/s channels, the new measurement system delivers industry-leading performance, accuracy and probing connectivity for validating and verifying the performance of new high-speed digital product designs. Agilent Fault Detective Test Analyzer software enables customers to optimize their functional test suites, boost automated diagnostics accuracy to greater than 90 percent, and reduce labor costs by as much as 70 percent. Agilent Fault Detective is a standalone solution of software and services that enable electronics manufacturers to automate diagnostics for functional test of electronic assemblies. Test Analyzer improves Fault Detective's diagnostic capabilities by optimizing the automated functional test through software simulation. These capabilities improve diagnostic accuracy throughout the production cycle from pre-production to assembly and support, and help to quickly identify, isolate and repair faults within designs. "Agilent's high-speed probe measurement system and the Fault Detective Test Analyzer are two of the many test and measurement products we offer to help our customers validate and verify high-speed designs and improve product quality," said Mike Gasparian, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Multi-Industries Business unit. "Receiving two EDN innovation awards is proof that our customers recognize the benefit of Agilent's industry-leading test and measurement solutions in their design processes and to their bottom lines."

Winners of the EDN 2002 Innovation of the Year award were selected by EDN's engineering readership from 17 major product categories. EDN Innovation and Innovator of the Year awards, now in its 13th year, honor outstanding engineering products and innovators in the electronics industry.
