5/1/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: CY) and Envara, Inc. announced a joint development and marketing effort to provide OEMs with a low-cost, high-performance USB 2.0-to-WLAN (Wireless LAN) solution.
The wireless networking solution is an externally connected USB 2.0 adapter that enables users to connect to IEEE802.11g or IEEE802.11a/b/g WLANs at the high speed of 54 Mbps – employing Envara’s WiND512TM and WiND502TM silicon products, and Cypress’s EZ-USB SX2TM USB 2.0 Serial Interface Engine. A live demo of the joint solution will be shown at Networld + Interop and made available to ODMs/OEMs in June, 2003.
