4/28/2003 - Applied Data Systems (ADS), a Microsoft Gold-level embedded partner and a leader in ruggedized low-power and application-ready Windows CE-based devices, launched a new tool package called ADS SmartIO.NET at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, and is demonstrating the enhanced Microsoft .NET demos at their booth #742.
ADS continues to maintain its leadership position in application-ready, RISC-based single board computers by fully adopting and supporting the Microsoft Windows and Windows CE platforms. ADS provides the optional integration with the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework on all ADS shipped products. ADS is introducing additional .NET managed classes for several technologies, including the CAN bus, serial communications and the popular ADSmartIO technology. These tool wrappers facilitate code developers to quickly produce robust applications for their embedded solutions.
"ADS's new tool enhancements and resources for the .NET Compact Framework provide developers with an extended foundation to rapidly create a wide range of next-generation, smart and small-footprint Windows CE. NET-based devices," said Keith White, senior director of the Embedded and Application Platforms Group at Microsoft Corp.
"Our customers turn to Windows CE .NET for its versatility and its ease of use. As a leader in application-ready solutions and a Gold level IHV partner with Microsoft, we are committed to helping our customers readily use .NET solutions on their devices," said Robert Olsen, CEO ADS.
Due to ADS's work with the Microsoft embedded development groups, ADS's developers have gained knowledge of Microsoft .NET Compact Framework and Visual Studio .NET 2003 prior to the products general availability. This allows ADS to provide tools, utilities and source code to developers that integrate easily with the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework.
