4/25/2003 - Synergy Microsystems, Inc. (Synergy), a leading developer of board-level solutions for real-time embedded applications, announced the appointment of Brian Umstead as regional sales manager. Umstead, who brings with him more than 23 years of management and technical sales experience, will be responsible for expanding and managing Synergy’s business in the Northeastern United States.
Umstead has a strong technical background in the VME market and has successfully expanded sales organizations and managed innumerable military and commercial accounts. In his new role, Umstead will utilize his industry knowledge and technical expertise to provide Synergy’s customers which the best board solutions for their specific requirements. Prior to joining Synergy, Umstead spent six years at Mercury Computer Systems as a senior account manager. During that time, Umstead sold military solutions and managed accounts within the company’s Defense Electronics Group. Before that, Umstead spent three years as a regional sales manager at Syminex where he oversaw sales for their VME signal conditioning systems. He earlier served as an account manager at Concurrent Computers for four years. Umstead began his career at Schweber Electronics (now owned by Arrow Electronics), where he held sales and management positions for seven years.
