Altera Introduces $2 Nios Reconfigurable RISC Processor
4/23/2003 - Altera Corp. (NASDAQ: ALTR) will highlight its $2 Nios® reconfigurable RISC processor at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco this week. Altera's Nios embedded processor and low-cost CycloneTM devices combine to deliver the industry's most cost-effective embedded processing solution available today.
Altera's system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions allow designers to define and automate the development of complete embedded processing applications. Altera's SOPC Builder system development tool leverages low-cost Cyclone and high-performance StratixTM FPGA families and SOPC Builder-ready intellectual property (IP) cores, including the popular Nios soft-core embedded processor, providing an easy-to-use, powerful platform for system design. The availability of Altera and partner development kits and extensive suite of debug and real-time operating system (RTOS) support complete the delivery of Altera's solutions.
Altera will fully explore the capabilities of these solutions at a technical session titled "General Purpose Ethernet Messaging Applications."
Technical Session: Saturday, April 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
