Advantech Increase Revenue by Over 20 Percent

4/21/2003 - The Leading Global ePlatform Service Provider, Advantech Co., Ltd. announced that Net Sales for March 2003 totaled NT$554,778. The accumulated Net Sales for the first quarter of 2003 is NT$1,500 Million. March Sales increased 21.4% from the previous month and increased by 9.8% from the corresponding 2002 period. The sales revenue contributed from the three Strategic Business Units in terms of percentage is:

The sales revenue is primarily generated from the Europe and the US markets. The Company Spokesperson, Mr. Steven Lo, cited Embedded Computing Group as an example. The ODM orders received in Q4, 2002 have started to ship to the US. Panel PC and Telecom products are shipping to Europe and Korea, respectively. Looking forward to the second quarter, RISC and SOM are expected to drive sales growth and the China market will continue to contribute satisfactory profits.

Industrial Automation Group has set their key marketing strategies and main focus for this year: Excellence in PC-based Control and Advancing eAutomation. The ultimate goal is to keep the leading position in the PC-based Control market and aim for the highest growth potential in the eAutomation market.

As for Network Computing Group, the shipment to China Petroleum has been very successful and the second quarter is anticipated to grow 30% from the corresponding 2002 period.
