Advantech Increases Revenues by Over 20 Percent

4/16/2003 - The Global Leading ePlatform Service Provider, Advantech Co., Ltd. announced that the Net Sales for March 2003 totaled NT$554, 778 Million, breaking the historical single month high for sales of this year. The accumulated Net Sales for the first quarter of 2003 is NT$1,500 Million.

March Sales increased 21.4% from the previous month and increased 9.8% from the corresponding 2002 period. The sales revenue contributed from the three Strategic Business Units in terms of percentage is: Embedded Computing Group (ECG) 32%, Network Computing Group (NCG) 29%, and Industrial Automation Group (IAG) 22%. The sales revenue is primarily generated from Europe and US market.

The Company Spokesperson, Mr. Steven Lo, uses Embedded Computing Groups as an Example. The ODM order received in Q4, 2002 has started to ship to US smoothly. Panel PC and Telecom products are managed to ship to Europe and Korea, respectively. Looking forward to the second quarter, RISC and SOM are expected to drive the sales growth and China market will continue to contribute satisfactory profits.

Industrial Automation Group has set main focuses and key marketing strategies this year: Excellence in PC-based Control and Advancing eAutomation. The ultimate goal is to keep the leading position in the PC-based Control market and aim for the highest growth potential in the eAutomation market.

As for Network Computing Group, the shipment to China Petroleum has been very successful and the second quarter is anticipated to grow 30% from the corresponding 2002 period.
