Reasoning Selects William S. Payne as New President and CEO

4/14/2003 - Reasoning Inc., the leading provider of automated software inspection services, announced that William (Bill) S. Payne, 49, has been appointed as the company's president and chief executive officer.

Payne brings to Reasoning almost 30 years of experience in both the technology and financial services industries. Most recently, he served as president of the securities systems division of OM Group, a Stockholm-based provider of transaction technology to the financial services and energy industries. In 1997, he engineered the turnaround of TCAM Systems, a subsidiary of Stratus Computers that was acquired by OM Group in 1999.

Prior to joining Stratus, Payne was CEO of The Full Service Trade System, creators of TradeCard, a service designed to help importers and exporters expedite paperwork and financing associated with international trade transactions. Payne's experience also includes five years as president of ACT Financial Systems, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the ACT group responsible for building, selling and supporting derivatives, trading and international banking systems. Earlier in his career, Payne was head of business development for UK-based systems integrator Logica.

"Bill Payne's business acumen in all aspects of day-to-day operations, with a particular focus on business development and accelerating sales and profitability, will take Reasoning to the next level of operations," commented James Treybig, Reasoning chairman.

Payne replaces Scott Trappe, who has stepped down from his role as president and CEO to pursue other interests.
