4/10/2003 - Parasoft, the leading provider of Automated Error Prevention software solutions, announced the availability of Parasoft’s Global Reporting System (GRS), a support infrastructure that collects and correlates all information within Parasoft Enterprise Solutions. These solutions are based on the Parasoft Automated Error Prevention methodology.
Automated Error Prevention provides a new approach to improving software quality and reliability. It goes beyond traditional testing practices to combine the intelligence, tools, techniques and services to automatically prevent errors in software. Automated Error Prevention uses the information gained from software testing, monitoring, and measurement to progressively improve the development process.
"Automated Error Prevention focuses on process improvement and automation to prevent software errors over traditional bug chasing methods," said Gary Brunell, Parasoft vice president of professional services. As part of Parasoft Enterprise Solutions, GRS gathers, stores, correlates, and reports the data from Parasoft and third-party tools, providing architects, development managers, CTOs and CEOs the information needed to make critical decisions about their software projects. A variety of standard reports are accessible using a standard web browser. Based on a login, users access reports through the GRS dashboard, which presents them with information relevant to their role within the system.
What is GRS?
GRS can also correlate information from previous projects to provide Confidence Factors that help to estimate the progress of a current project. Confidence factors use a scale from 0% to 100% to help determine how successful tests have been in analyzing a project, and to indicate what types of tests may still need to be conducted. The higher the confidence factor number, the better the application is working and the more likely it is to succeed after deployment.
GRS is available as a component of Parasoft’s new Enterprise Solutions, including: Parasoft Java Solution, Parasoft C/C++ Solution, Parasoft Web Services Solution, Parasoft Web Application Solution and Parasoft Database Solutions.
