Performance Technologies Debuts PICMG 2.16-based I/O Controller

4/9/2003 - Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leading developer of unified embedded systems and solutions, introduced the latest edition to its IPnexusTM product family. The PICMG® 2.16-based CPC358 Serial I/O Communications Controller provides equipment developers and system integrators with a high performance platform for use in communications, military and commercial server-blade applications.

The IPnexus CPC358 is an intelligent, eight-channel synchronous serial I/O communications system-on-a-card for CompactPCI® and PICMG 2.16 chassis. It supports NexusWareTM, Performance Technologies’ comprehensive Linux-based operating and development environment intended for system engineers building packet-based platforms for next-generation communication, control and enterprise systems. In addition to NexusWare, the CPC358 is also supported by Performance Technologies’ broad range of WAN protocols, including HDLC, Frame Relay, x.25, Radar Receiver and Synchronous Bit Stream. Operating system support is provided for Linux, Solaris and Windows 2000.

The IPnexus CPC358 is currently shipping to beta customers with general availability planned for June 2003. Pricing starts at $2,795.
