4/1/2003 - TimesTen, Inc., a provider of real-time event processing software for telecommunications and financial services, announced plans to release its TimesTen® Real-Time Event Processing System on HP's Tru64 UNIX® operating system. Availability is anticipated in the second quarter of this year. TimesTen is adding this support in direct response to demand from the large number of mobile operators with Tru64 UNIX as part of their existing infrastructure, and who are developing convergent billing systems and new sophisticated value-added services (VAS). The availability of TimesTen will enable these companies to increase and extend the return on their technology investment by delivering the real-time event processing necessary to meet the performance and scalability demands of these new applications.
Mobile operators continue to forge ahead with advanced services that place a significant load on their existing infrastructure. One of the main evolutions is the transition from batch to real-time processing, with even greater emphasis on the availability of the systems.
