3/26/2003 - IDTTM (Integrated Device Technology, Inc.; Nasdaq: IDTI), a leading communications IC company, announced that its RC32438 InterpriseTM integrated communications processor has been named analogZONE’s 2002 Product of the Year in the Computer and Server I/O category. AnalogZONE praised the RC32438 processor for its ability to “concentrate and groom PCI-based control signals in an efficient manner, making it easy for switch fabrics to share a PCI bus efficiently.” Editors at analogZONE select award winners from the hundreds of products they review each year, based on marketability and exceptional merit. More information about the Product of the Year awards can be found at the analogZONE website.
“When developing the RC32438 processor, our goal was to create a product that addresses the growing requirements for higher sustained data rates and increased processing of data in emerging markets, such as embedded security and converged gateways,” said Phil Bourekas, vice president of the IDT Internetworking Products Division. “Being recognized by analogZONE’s respected editorial staff as a Product of the Year demonstrates that the RC32438 device has succeeded in meeting the needs of communications applications within the Enterprise and access markets.”
The RC32438 integrated communications processor includes several key design features that were highlighted by analogZONE for contributing to increased system bandwidth. The presence of two Ethernet interfaces reduces the level of bus traffic on other shared external buses of the RC32438 device, and a double-data-rate memory controller on the processor provides system designers with higher memory bandwidth systems than SDRAM-based solutions.
